Strange request, need a CAD type program for Legos!

Hello all,

I would like to know if a CAD type program exists for Legos. One that would let you basically build the model on your computer first and have all the brick types and stuff. Lego itself has a program like this, but it is poorly designed (for kids) and it doesn't have all the pieces I need.

Please help me out if someone knows of a program like this!

Thanks,
Swan

I made my own prefabbed bricks before in a program called Personal Designer back in highschool... I measured the bricks with a vernier and used the measurements to get the right dimensions. I don't know of any Lego-Cad programs, but I know you could very well make your own bricks and assemble them within the program 🙂

Mike's Lego CAD 😉

MLCad (Mike's Lego CAD) is a powerful CAD system specifically designed to create building instructions as known from Lego, for your own Lego models and creations. MLCad reads and writes LDraw (a program of James Jessiman) compatible files but in an extensive window based environment. The program helps to create building instructions, which show step by step how to build a model

I have used both of the above two programs before and both work very good.

Good luck with whatever you are doing.

Josh
