Strange rebate problem with Seagate

I don't understand why I got a check for $40 when I applied for a $50 rebate and it says so in the tracer:

Tracking Results: Status Details

Rebate: $40.00 Rebate Check
Rebate Information For: 147555xxx
Promotion: $50 Mail in Rebate with Purchase of 160GB ATA Hard Drive from Fry's Electronics and Outpost.com
Submission Type: MAIL-IN
Date Received: 04-02-2005
Check Issue Date: 04-13-2005
Check Number: 5490xxx
Status Detail: Your rebate is valid. Please allow up to 30 days to receive your rebate.

I'd love to know why! Any ideas?




 
seagate rebates are horrible. call them, they'll fix it if you have all your paperwork handy

same thing happened to me actually. I had a $50 rebate but they marked it as $60.

A couple weeks went by and it got canceled. Called the rebate company up and they apologized and re-instated my rebate.

Recieved a $60 rebate check after another 2 weeks 🙂

I think you meant "Wasting" but I do have a life outside of my computer and try not to abuse the purpose of this forum by making entries like "PPD = .01333!! ". I am trying to learn.
