STrange question: Are Sata Drives freely swappable?

I'm going to format my primary hard drive, which is a 200 gig PATA drive, and im throwing all my stuf fon a 300 gig SATA drive. Will this work even though SATA drives require their own windows drivers?

When you reload windows on the primary drive and include the SATA drivers again, all your data on the SATA drive will be accessable.
