I had my Q6600 overclocked to 3.2ghz. I often idled in the high 40's and load mid 50's. I decided I really don't need 3.2ghz out of this thing, and the stock speed of 2.4 would be fine. I run it with a Cooler Master Hyper 212 so it has decent cooling.
It's at 1.1250 volts, down from something like 1.35 volts, and I'm still idling around the same temps as I did with the OC.
CPUZ is giving me 1.056v currently, at idle, and 1.04v with load. Strange...
Speedfan is giving me 41, 37, 35, 40 for load temps, which seems more realistic considering the cooling solution and the voltage/clockrate. Is Core Temp simply wrong?
Thanks in advance.
