Just built my new system on my ASUS P4T-E (check my updated rig). The problem is that my Microsoft basic mouse bought 2 yrs ago, refuses to work when plugged in the PS/2 port. It was working fine on my old configuration and on my notebook (both cases plugged in the PS/2) but now it doesn't exist in the device manager under WinXP and not found generally by the system. When I use the supplied serial adapter and plug it in one serial port everything works fine. Anyone can explain that plz or ever had such weird problem?
My greatest worry is wheather could this be a motherboard's defective PS/2 port? Cuz if it is a mouse problem I won't run to buy another ......

The whole hardware setup was done by my local retailer where I ordered the system and he said at a relevant question that he didn't install anything from the ASUS cdrom-everything was found by WinXP and truly-everything else works perfect.... plus that I just checked ASUS site for a bios update. I have the latest version already on board....

the retailer didn't offer a warranty on his work? if he did drag it over to his shop and make him fix the problem! thats what you pay for with a warranty ;) but I do believe you need to install those files from the cd-rom (if the work with xp, not sure myself)
