ok, I'm about to go crazy. I can run my computer for days at 19x200. temps are now down to mid/high 70's, voltages under control, etc. however, when I report wu's and/or download new wu's from seti I get random crashes. this happens even when I drop down to stock speeds. this is on my main i7 rig with a gtx 260, so it's having a huge impact on my crunching ability (and my sanity). has anybody heard of this? any help would be much appreciated.

Hmm, your CPU temps are rather high!........

Afraid I don't know of a specific fix for this but have you tried installing SETI again to another dir & see if that one works ok?

Not heard about crashes when up- or downloading WUs for a very long time ...

The temps are OK for being seti - the WUs' demand on the cores are higher than for many other projetcs; except parhaps some @ Ibercivic ... The junction temp for i7 is @ 99-100 degrees C. Due to bad contact between the HSF and CPU I have run a i7-860 @ 95 degrees C for 2 weeks without any problems or errors ...

OK - to the problem:
1. I assume that your computer is not infected with a virus.
2. I assume that your firewall does not have any issues with seti or seti's WUs
3. I assume that your virus scanner does not have any issues with seti's WUs or that you have excepted the seti directory from scanning.
4. I also assume that this happens only when up- or downloading from the seti-site and not when doing other internet communication.
5. I also assume that other processes up- or downloading files of some kind do not interfere.

6. It could be a driver issue for the NIC.
7. Seti is known for dropping connections now and then. It has not happenede to me for some weeks but ...
8. I am quite sure that somebpody else has better ideas than me ... ;)
