Strange problem with MSI Ti4200

I've just received my MSI G4Ti4200-TD (128MB) card from Googlegear.

I installed the MSI drivers (version 31.00) and all seems OK. But when I try to right-click on the Desktop, go into Properties, the additional MSI tabs crash the moment I try to select them, and from there on, the Properties window has only the standard Windows XP tabs !

I used the LiveUpdate facility to get the latest nVidia drivers (40.72) and same thing keeps happening.

Also, if I try to go into 3D!Turbo experience application, it reports an error in the webpage it attempts to open, and can't get into that either.

Has anyone got any ideas or suggestions ?

Also, these are the results of my 3DMark2001SE Benchmark test :

The results were about 9700 or so with the original v31.00 drivers, so obviously there is some improvement, but I felt there was noticeable "jerking" of the graphics on screen with the new drivers. I've got a ViewSonic E651 monitor BTW.

Since I am new to graphics overclocking/3DMark, I really haven't got much idea. Could someone please advice me about the scores and the above mentioned problem ? Thanks...
