I have been watching a couple of divx movies and this problem has been happening to 9 out of 10 movies. The problem that while watching, the VIDEO suddenly pauses, but the AUDIO keeps on playing. The remedy that I have been using is to fastforward it about 5 secs. This seems to work, but it is very anoying. I am using Windows Media Player and the latest divx coded I could find. I have also tried using GDiVX Player, but the same problem happens. Is this a bug in the DiVX codec?

Used to be, download the latest from http://www.divx.com
may want to update media player too.

Basically there are missing frames, so media player or whatever you are using notices they are missing and hangs, there used to be a reg patch for it but now I think that the Divx 4.01 codec solves all those problems.

Oh, if it doesnt download this file.

This is caused by a goof during the encoding. It's not that uncommon, actually. My solution was to use a video player other then Windows Media Player. My favorite one is 'Zoom Player', I forgot where exactly but it's hidden somewhere on Doom9.org. Good little player, quick to load, and if you want to you can associate video files to this program.

I found the Anti-Freeze patch and tried installing it, but I don't think it worked for me. Then again, maybe it doesn't work in WMP, but it worked for the Zoom Player I mentioned. Who knows.
