Strange problem with 7950 GT

When cold boot my system (sig) I get over 6200 on 3DMark06, but if it's up a while (like 30 mins) the frame rates get cut in half and I only score around 3000. I can't get normal rates again unless I cold boot. The same goes for games. I get ~50-60fps outdoors in Oblivion but if the system gets in that state it drops to ~30.

No services or anything strange are running. Any idea?

 
Yeah ^ QFT. Is your case well cooled? Mine is, and my 7950GT OCed to 7900GTX speeds never goes above 70C.
 
Ok. I clocked down to normal speed and let it sit and got consistent frame rates. I guess I will clock it down a lot until I get better cooling.
 
Damn, even clocked at default speeds this keeps happening. The GPU is around 50c idle, the MB is 39c, the CPU is 50c. The weird thing is if it happens and I reboot it still happens, but if I power off for a second than turn it back on right away the problem goes away.

Think it's still heat or something screwed with my system?

Edit: Monitoring everything with Rivatuner, even when slow the GPU/memory is normal 550/700 so it's not the drivers throttling the card. Jeeze this is driving me nuts.
