Strange problem after installing video card

Hey everyone, for the past few years I've been using integrated graphics to play some older games. Yesterday, I installed a Radeon 7850 along with Catalyst 13.1 drivers and it seems to work well. Unfortunately, the problem I'm having is now playing Return to Castle Wolfenstein without Windows saying that Aero mode is disabled because they can't recognize the published (something to that effect). I've never had this problem before.

Also, when I exit out of the game and I get the Aero message (that it is disabled), I see that the game is still not closed when I check the Task Manager. When I close the game in Task Manager, Windows reverts back to Aero mode. For some reason, this game is now interfering with Aero mode in Windows. This is not a big deal but I really like this game and would rather not manually close it every time in order for Aero to work.

I would appreciate any response to this. Thanks.

Go to Control Panel
>> System
>>Advanced System Settings
>>Advanced
>> "Settings" under Performance
Change "Let Windows do what's best for my computer" to "Adjust for best appearance"

I tried that but the same problem persists. This is exact error message:

"The Color scheme has been changed

The following program has performed an action that requires Windows to temporarily change the scheme to Windows 7 Basic.

Program: WolfMP.exe
Publisher: <Unavailable>

Windows will automatically change the color scheme back to Windows Aero when this program or other programs performing similar actions are no longer running."


So it seems that when this game is running, it interferes with Windows' color scheme.
