Strange POST Beep

My buddy's computer is acting up, when he powered on the other day, he received a strange POST beep, it was like a siren, alternating high pitch, low pitch, high pitch, low pitch, repeating. Anyone know what it means, other than the comical responses of "GET OUT ITS GONNA BLOW!" or "HE'S FSKED" ?

You'll have to check the mb manual. It will tell you what it means.

Possibly the fan on his heatsink is bad or not connected to the correct header on the motherboard.

I would definatly check the heatsink and fan on the cpu, on a lot of motherboards that means the cpu is overheating.

Yes, it's the temp alarm sound.

Maybe you have the alarm level set too low in the BIOS.
