Strange Overclocking Results

Ok, so I am trying to test my RAM at the moment to see it's threshold, and I am getting some very weird results with my tests.

I am using Patriot PC6400 and am currently running them at DDR 990 @ 5-5-5-15 with 2.3v and a 3.00 timing multiplier on the FSB.

I have an e4300, which is running at 6 x 330, with the stock HS and stock volts.

This configuration has passed memtest (5x test 5, 1x all the way through) and is stable in orthos.

However, when I reboot my system, it does the routine of trying to boot up 3 or 4 times before it actually makes it. Then, I have no idea what happens. Sometimes, I will go into BIOS and the FSB will be at 330 still but the RAM timer will be on Auto, showing the DDR back at 800. When this happens and I boot to windows, TAT and CPU-Z show my CPU at 1200 MHz (6 x 200) while Core Temp shows the "correct" 1980MHz (6 x 330).

Also, sometimes it will boot and keep the DDR 990, and TAT and CPU-Z will show the proper 1980MHz, but then Core Temp will show 2970 MHz (495 x 6) which makes no sense (495 is the FSB of the RAM, is it just assuming a 1:1 ratio?)

I have the Gigabyte DS3, and a good PSU. What is happening here? My RAM seems stable, testing wise, and I can't figure it out.

I really doubt it would boot unless I raised the voltage on my CPU, which I'm not sure I want to do, since it's on stock cooling at the moment.
