Okay, so after I Shut Down the comp in WIN XP SP2, the computer powers off and then a second later powers up and boots back into windows. Okay, thinking its gotta be the PSU cause I have had it for almost 10 years now. This just started happening two days ago, but before that, my computer would just randomly restart. I have noticed that my CPU is also consitantly running at 60 degrees C. Though I can confidently say the CPU temp is not causing the Power-Ons, could the CPU's high temp be causing the restarts, or is this likely because of the PSU also? And if the PSU is to blame for either, could someone recommend a product or Voltage, Wattage, Ampage, or whatever info for my comp?

Does it power off, completely? I have a similar problem where, when I try to shut down my machine, it acts like I hit the Restart button, instead. I think it's a corrupted file or driver conflict with XP.

No, it definately powers off completely. I can hear the power supply knock off. Plus, you know the sound your computer makes when it powers off, very distinct from a restart. Don't think it is the drivers, I have gone through every video driver possible, updated audio, etc.

The restarting part at high temps is because of the 60+ temperature most likely. If your power supply is really 10 years old what the heck model is it? It would be too small I would think to handle that load if it really is that old.

Couldn't tell you the model, but it is the same one (I am pretty damn sure anyways) I had in my 75Mhz Intel back when it costed $1800.

It quite possibly could be a stuck power button. They have a tendency to wear out after a while.
