Yes, when I first spotted the object, friends and I joked about it being shot in Arizona. And the possibility of a fossil being planted by the rover to enhance Dubya's chances of a Mars mission, thus re-election. We'll see, but for now, I'll tell you this: there's more to come!

I can just see it, nasa dudes out in Arizona driving around this rover taking pictures to upload to the website. Sorry, that just seems funny to me.

<---- does not believe they fabricated the mars thing, just thinks it funny if they did

Meh. I bet its a chunk from the lander.

I like how some people always discount the most likely so easily. :)

It's really a paper swan that Beagle 2 made when it first landed while waiting for instuctions from earth.

I just downloaded the full-size high res image, and if my perspective is right, that thing looks tiny! As in, maybe a few inches long... yes?

Oh noes!

Text

NASA says its from the descent stage, but we know better! It the awning and lawn chair from the RV parked off Camera directing the action!

Either that, or its an Alien artifact!

Geeze this picture is going to take about 40 min to load. Well I'll zoom in on the afformentiend section. Got to remain objective. I don't know about that black and white thing but that color picture looks like a touched down dirt devil with the smaller vorticies in the center. If so they've already taken pictures of those. Can't tell how big it is. If it is somesort of martian living thing it would be interesting to find out what it eats (photosynthesis?), how it deals with the cold, oxidants, and uv rays. Could be a geologic feature too. Maybe ice, water or c02 covered in dust.

The rover is not on Mars. It's a hoax. It's out in some desert somewhere and the govt wants us sheeple to think we made it to Mars. The dried vegetation or dead animal you spotted would have proved this is a fabricated, staged event, so they had to hide it.

Reasons? USA can boast we are the first to get there. Make China, Russia etc spends billions trying to get there too. They must try now, to prove they have the engineering, finances, and skills to compete.

Second, government big-shots siphon billions off of the NASA budget for their buddies (contracts for parts, etc.)

Third, keep the stupid American public busy while they steal the country while nobody is watching.

Yes, I am a conspiracy theorist. It's a hoax, and you busted them.

I love those conspiracy theroies. They usually forget that the Spaniards and Aussies are the ones receiving the radio signals from Mars 2/3 of the time. Pretty tough to fake that or keep it secret.

Oh come on! Everyone knows that those Australians can't keep a secret! All you gotta do is get a bottle of Foster's in 'em and they talk a mile a minute!
