Today I turned on my PC and I got this loud high pitch screeching noise for like 10 seconds, What could be causing it?

Last time I had heard the noise was 6 months ago
(Also happened turning on PC.)

I have had my PC for just over a year, Any idea on a possible cause?

Maybe it would help if you let us know something about your PC's components. Like, what are they? Is your PC overclocked?

The usual suspects I can think of are:

#1: An optical drive. Did you leave a disc in there? ;) Totally normal for it to spin up and whine for a bit.
#2: A fan. As fans in my computers get older, they frequently grind or whine for awhile on startup. If the fan doesn't stop, nothing overheats, and it's not too irritating, there's no big problem here. But I wouldn't usually call this "high-pitched screeching".
#3: A hard drive. That would be an indication that you should replace the drive.
#4: Coil whine. This can come from any high-power component, but usually either the PSU or the GPU. Unusual that it would only happen on startup, though. Coil whine is not harmful; just irritating.

Sometimes fans will squeal or make noise when they are cold, then quiet down as they warm up. If your computer is in a dusty environment, that's even harder on them.

Take the side panel off and listen as you start up the computer. If it sounds like a fan is making the noise, unplug it before you start it next time and see what happens. Be sure to plug the fan back in when you are done testing.

The noise may be something else, but it's worth a look.

#1 - No disk in Optical Drive.

#2 - Possibility but I only ever heard the noise twice from my machine.

#3 - 6 months ago I first heard the noise, So would it not be dead by now?

#4 - I don't have this judging from videos hearing it.

My room does get a vast amount of dust , I just opened up my PC and the fans don't look dust ridden and look to be running well.

I restarted but no noise, I know I won't get the noise as last time I heated it was 6 months ago and today was second time hearing it.

Just want to determine where it could be coming from so I know if my PC is gonna be fine in the near future.

I had a really high pitched and LOUD screeching noise coming from the graphics card (or possible the PSU) once when I managed to short circuit the area around the GPU with spilled liquid metal (Coollab Liquid Pro). Soon as I cleaned it up and reseated the graphics card cooler, it was quiet and no damage was done.

What PSU do you have?

Given that you had it 6 months ago and you haven't experienced any other problems, I doubt your computer is suddenly going to break or anything like that. If it starts happening more often than once in 6 months, then you'll probably need to actually worry about it.

Just ran a error scan with HD Tune Pro and 0 errors were detected with reading from the Hard Drive, I had no strange noises running the scan so guess my Hard Drive is good?

In most cases it is a Fan.

Open the Case, most times with open case you might be able to Id the culprit.

Otherwise, disconnect Fans one at the time and see what happens.

Could be a BIOS fan-fail warning screech. Maybe one of your case fans takes some "oomph" to start up, and doesn't start immediately.
