So, here's the deal. 2 apartments, each with their own ISP (cable modem). Is there a way to set 2 wireless routers (linksys, most likely) up so each sub-net shares their own ISPs Bandwidth, but can also communicate with eachother. The main goal of this setup is to have a central server/file sharing PC, that every computer in the 2 networks can connect to for filesharing and gaming purposes. (also for multimedia, xbox, 360, ect ect). Now, it may be possible to run an outdoor network cable along the siding of the apartment, depending on how visible it would be (pretty shady apartment, no one's gonna see it)...which would help a ton, I'm sure. One of the apartments will be using mainly wireless, as they all have laptops, where as the other one (mine, where the server will be) 2 will be wired, one wireless (hes on an apple....but wont really need all the features we are gonna be using).
Other than that, I'm kinda stuck. We can get the two routers, along with whatever else we might need. Would it possibly be an issue of me putting 2 NIC cards in the *server* and setting up the network that way? I'm not really sure where to start with all of this, so I guess its more important to figure out if this is even possible, and how I might go about it. Thanks in advance, I look forward to reading replies!! =D
