Strange monitor problem

I just built an i7 setup (see specs below). I'm running a 22" Acer LCD and have my power saving options to turn off the monitor after 15 minutes of no use. After 15 minutes the screen goes blank but the monitor stays on. Not sure why, or how to fix this. Any suggestions?
 
Does your monitor also have power saving features? Some monitors were turn themselves off after a period of time, even if the OS is "told" not to turn off the monitor.

I'd double check your monitor for any settings.
