Strange message alert with Windows update

I don't know about anyone else here, but I've been getting a lot of automatic Windows updates lately. Anyway, the most recent update was yesterday and before I could click to finish installing, a message popped up that read:

"Files that require Windows to run properly have been replaced by unrecognized versions. To maintain system stability, Windows must restore the original versions of these files.
The network location from which the files should be copied C;\Windows\ServicePack\i386/controls.man, is not available. Contact your system administrator or insert Windows XP KB839645 Source Files now."

I couldn't figure this out so I clicked cancel and then clicked to finish installing which I think (I hope) did actually finish the install. But what I don't understand is I'm not on a network, this is a single computer.

Does anybody know whether this is a serious or minor problem? And what do I do? I'm a bit of a newbie. Thanks.

Sounds like something tried to replace the files that were updated with the 839645 patch. Windows is trying to protect against that. I would download the 839645 patch and re-apply it to your machine.
