Strange memory problem

I've got an issues with two sticks of 1GB Crucial Ballistix RAM. They been running great for two months at stock settings (nothing on my computer is overclocked). Now I started getting blue screens all over the place and Memtest will sometimes start throwing all sorts of errors. I've tried running the sticks individually, but Memtest doesn't throw errors when their run singly.

Is it possible for sticks to only be bad when running in dual channel mode? Is this likely an issue with the memory (I consider more likely since they were only $20 AR)? Or since the sticks run fine on their own, could the problem be with the mobo when in dual channel mode?

Have you checked to see if the timings are set to default levels and that you have the proper voltage to them? I am not familier with that ram but they should have some info to what the voltage is supposed to be set to. You may need a voltage bump....All this, keep in mind, is based on your info of not overclocking........if you overclock, things will change...:)

Thanks, they are rated for 2.2V, but they had been running at 1.9V for the past two months. For grins I bumped them up to their rated voltage, still getting errors. I ran the Prime95 blend test, and it passed with one stick but not the other. So I think I've got it figured out.

Well hope you have, but you might need a NB bump in voltage too. I am sure not much as you only have 2 banks occupied. Still, might want to increase it a notch just to be sure. Wouldn't hurt. :)

I had a set of SuperTalent DDR2 DIMMs that would error in Memtest86 in one repeatable spot if they were run in dual-channel, but when tested individually they were fine.

A different set of RAM in the same motherboard, running in dual-channel mode also runs fine.
