Strange load balancing

It seems to me that I get sent to forums4 most of the time.The forums forums seem a bit slow to me on forums4 more often then not. But when I type in forums1, 2, or 3, the forums load much faster.

Maybe it is just me.😕

I'm rarely on 4. I wonder if it varies based on route to the cluster?

Russ, what happens first is the round-robin DNS picks you up and takes you to forumsx.anandtech.com. Then the cluster looks ensure that the machine you are hitting isn't already too loaded. It sometimes depends on your ISP's DNS caching, as if your ISP has forums.anandtech.com cached as forums2.anandtech.com then thats where you will go 🙂. We plan on moving to a hardware load balancing device in the near future &quot;Cisco Load Director&quot;.
