My gamma is all weird with 7.7
On the Color setting on CCC, if I set it to "PC Standard black and white levels" its too light on the low end and the contrast seems a little low. If I set it to Microsoft MCE, it seems like contrast is too high.

Anyone else get this? Happens only with 7.7, furthermore, I see some dithering on color bars ... there was none before.

I did but I still get the dithering and I lose some contrast on the higher white levels...

So freaking weird. Doesnt happen with 7.6

I believe the Microsoft MCE setting is the "standard" setting (i.e. it does nothing).

Are you sure you are not just imagining that the contrast is too high after seeing the other profile?

I think this may be true -- however, there still is dithering

Have you checked the other parts of CCC for a digital vibrance or other oversaturation feature that is enabled? If you can't see anything else that's set improperly, perhaps the driver has a bug. You could start a support ticket or file a Vista feedback report at ati.amd.com

FWIW, I see NO reason for the "PC standard black/white levels"; the setting itself looks hideous on any PC display I've seen, and the fact that this setting is the default is just silly. Does it somehow look acceptable on CRT's? I'd like to know why it was created in the first place.

Its definitely a bug but I was hoping someone else with a 20wmgx2 would notice this so I could work out a temp solution.

Thanks anyway.

*topic stays alive just in case.

to add to the drama, for some reason when Im using AFR, it switches between color profiles
ie one card has MS black level the other PC level

I swear, I will NEVER buy a dual card solution again
