Strange LAN problem

I was accessing my file server fine 2 days ago. Saturday my new A64 mobo arrived. I bought the Asus K8N-E Deluxe. I am using the integrated GigE nic.

I can surf the net fine, ping our router without any problems. But, if I try to ping any computer on the local network (roommates computer, file server, laptops, etc.) they all time out.

I am trying to figure this one out, but haven't succeeded in anything but banging my head against the desk.

Any suggestions?

EDIT: Stupid, stupid me. I forgot about the hardware filewall included with the 250GB chipset and I was using it, but didn't finish configuring it before going to work this morning. The ports were closed. I was hitting my head b/c I had disabled the Windows firewall and didn't think about the hardware one I had enabled.
