Since last 2 days, I am encountering a strange problem with my new keyboard which I bought about a fortnight back.
The problem is after using the keyboard continuously for, say, about 3 hours, if the right Shift & right Ctrl keys (or the left Shift & left Ctrl keys) are pressed together, a beeping sound gets generated. Some text editors make use of Shift+Ctrl+(Some Key) as shortcuts for various functions (for e.g. in the text editor TextPad, Ctrl+Shift+U & Ctrl+Shift+L can be used to change the case of the selected text to uppercase & lowercase respectively).
Apart from the beep, Ctrl+Shift+(Some Key) doesn't do the function which it is supposed to do. For e.g. in TextPad, Ctrl+Shift+U doesn't change the case of the selected text to uppercase. Similarly Ctrl+Shift+L doesn't change the case of the selected text to lowercase!
Please note that this abnormality happens only when the Ctrl & Shift keys on the same side of the keyboard are pressed together i.e. this happens only when the Ctrl key on the right side of the keyboard is pressed with the Shift key on the right side of the keyboard or when the Ctrl key on the left side of the keyboard is pressed with the Shift key on the left side of the keyboard! If the Ctrl key on the right side of the keyboard is pressed with the Shift key on the left side of the keyboard or vice-versa, then it behaves normally.
What could the problem be?
Thanks,
Arpan
