I was overclocking my e8400. Yesterday it was running fine at 3897 Mhz. Today I rebooted after installing new AV software and I was surprised to see it boot at 3 Ghz. So I went into bios and it still saying my overclock is enabled and fsb is showing 433. But it doesnt show when I boot up and look in cpu-z. Whats happened?

Is the Host Clock Control set to enabled or disabled? I notice after a OC that didn't take all of my settings are there, but the Host Clock Control is disabled. All I do is enable it (and fix whatever voltage or FSB speed caused the bad OC) and it comes right back up. This also happened to me once when i left my computer on during a wind storm (I wasn't at home) and the power went on and off several times.

Same thing happened to me - I unplugged my power for about 10 minutes, set the BIOS settings back to optimized, restarted, and reset the settings to what I had previously. Seems like everything works just fine now!
