Strange issue with a single word on the forums...?

Ok, pardon my language in this thread, but I am really confused as to why some of us are seeing ***** rather than certain curse words?

I noticed after typing sh!thead (without the !) in a thread, it came up as *****

I tried in another thread and another user noticed the same thing, but not everyone sees it. Some people see the sh!thead, others see *****. I tried logging out, same thing. Another user tried IE, same thing. It does however work when I capitalize the word, Sh!thead works fine.

Was something turned on, on our accounts? Is this a forum bug?

does not get filtered if we use a capital S instead, but this is a pretty bad glitch and severely limits some of our vocabulary..
