I have a z77 gigabyte motherboard. When I turn on my PC now it starts to boot up and I see the bios splash screen and then it shuts off. After a short pause it starts booting again and then goes into windows normally. It does this every time. Any idea on how to fix this?

This sort of thing usually happens when there is a BIOS setting the board doesn't like, and reverts to a working configuration. Go into your BIOS and make sure the options are what you want them to be. You may want to load optimized defaults and see if that works. You may also want to check device manager, and see if anything is in an error state.

I was able to fix it by switching some of the boot options. By disabling legacy boot support the problem went away.

I'm running Win7 64-Bit Ultimate and holding off WinX for the time being unitil I determine whether it's Skynet Genius - LOL

Granted I've haven't played and booted WinX as I'm skeptic whether the Upgrade will repartition my SSD's and HDD's.

Any Upgrade will destroy your option to run SYS-Prep to install your OS onto new Hardware and if the partitions are fucked who's to say if you can restore your Backup.

I "upgraded" to Win 10 but had issues with high idle cpu usage because of some issue with Intel Rapid Storage Technology. I reverted to Win 7 with no issues at all. Took only a few minutes.
