My bro is having problems with his display. It is a iiyama VM Pro 454 connected to a Radeon 9700 on an Abit NF7.
While I haven't been able to see the display myself, he tells me that there is 'serious interference' on the picture. The description he gives me is a snow like disturbance, rather like the static that you see on a weak TV signal - i.e. constantly changing faint, coloured, dots.
I have excluded a faulty monitor as the cause (it works fine on other PCs), similarly noisy power lines, magnetic interference and faulty cables have all been excluded.
The problem is visible with an older monitor (but not as much) - I suspect this is due to the much better performance of the new monitor.
Is this a faulty graphics card? Has anyone ever heard of anything like this?
