my problem can be found here. What basically happens is that when the computer boots and it get to detecting IDE devices, if their is a Hard drive plugged in it locks up. It occasionally freezes when just a CD-rom is plugged in. I have tried multiple hard drives, cables, and master/slave settings with no prevail. I am thinking it is a motherboard problem but tech guy that works with my friend say it might be the PS not putting out enough power on the 5v rail. Does this PS supply problem sound like it could be the problem or is likely the motherboard or even something else?

Lets see it's the 380 Watt Antec that comes with the Sonata case. I think it is the true power series. Thats why Im not sure if it is the PS as Antec makes very good quality power supplys.

You're fine on the PSU. It sounds like a flakey motherboard is the problem from your last topic. Has ASUS contacted you yet about an RMA?

Yeah they did, I sent in another request and got the number the next day. I went out and got another PSU, I will test that to see what the real problem is. I thought all along it was the Mobo, and Im probably right.
