Strange Happenings with MSI MotherBoard

I am currently running a MSI K7T Pro2A with a AMD 1ghz processor. When i turn on my computer and after it boots, i will loose the video signal and my usb mouse will turn off. This can happen within 5 minutes or 15 minutes, but it will shut off every time. The only way out of this is to turn off the computer and then turn it back on. I have gutted the system so there is only HD, video card, and ram. I have tested the video card and i know it works. Does anybody know what the matter is? Is it a bad motherboard?

well, since you have stripped down the system almost entirely i can only recommend trying a different power supply.. i know for sure they could possible cause happenings like that.. the mobo might not be getting enough voltage, or too much, and responding in such a way that it protects itself by shutting down.
If you can get your hands on a differnt PSU, chuck that thing in there and try it. (preferably a good quality 300W or more) my only suggestion on a gutted system.. if it was memory you'd probably get blue screens or rebooting, but not shutting down.. you can try another stick of RAM too, but that's likely not the problem.. and it's also possible that it could be the CPU.. while VERY rarely, i have heard of defective CPU's which still run. (albeit not well) the only other logical option would be the case having to do with grounding the mobo i'd think.. that MIGHT also cause this problem.. i however would do the PSU swap first. the only option after that would be to get an RMA on the mobo if nothing else fixes the problem. Hopefully you have some spare parts.. they are definitely good in troubleshooting unobvious problems like this. Hope some of this jibber jabber helps...

I was thinking about the power supply, but i didn't have time to try it. Thanks! I have a spare 300W PS that i know is working. I'll try that and let you know.

I tried a different power supply and i still get the same thing. For sure, all power management settings are turned off. So, does anybody have any ideas?

have you tried the board out of the case? make sure its not grounded with something accidently. If it still happens, I'd RMA the board.
CPU, or RAM shouldn't cause it. How are your temps? Maybe the HSF isn't on right, 5 to 15 mins would be a good shutdown time.
