STRANGE HAPPENINGS IN WIN2K

I'm having trouble with my win2k pro machine. When I first put it up it was working great now it's going crazy. sometimes when I use my CD-R it says can not read enhanced adiuo. One day the video card stoped working (it gave no image) I replace it with a PCI and works fine switch it back it works fine. Now it gives off no sound at all. Any ideas what's happening?

Did you check for IRQ Conflicts?
Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Information

I am running W2K on a Tyan, Via Chipset, AMD CPU; and haven't had any problems like this. The only problem I have is minor. In IE, sometimes the menus don't drop down. If I minimize the window and bring it back up, then I can use the menus though.

i'm having a similar problem, but i think mine is due to a memory leak
some program is filling all my real and virtual memory, taking all my resources and forcing the sound card to shut off, the web-cam to shut off and any other programs to intermittently fail
