So I built my new HTPC cum gaming computer last week and all was going wonderfully until I put the graphics card in and turned it on. The links show some pictures I took of the problem. If the links don't work the problem is like the screen has been split into three vertical sections and jumbled.

The card is a Sapphire 7850 OC. It is running through an Onkyo amp into a Panasonic 42" LED LCD with HDMI cables, I think they are v1.4 (model numbers of the amp and TV escape me at the moment). The problem presents itself with the amp set to HDMI pass-through, when the amp is turned on and when the computer is plugged directly into the TV.

The problem doesn't occur when using the integrated HD4000. Nor does it occur once I have installed drivers in Windows. However, the BIOS and everything up until the Windows login screen is still messed up. Also when I take a screen capture in Windows the resulting picture appears normal even when the image on the screen is jumbled.

I was hoping someone could shed some light on why this might happening and if there is any way I can fix it. I can install the Windows drivers and the problem goes away in Windows. But I use the BIOS frequently and I don't want to be having open the case up and remove the card every time I want to access it.

If the card is broken I suppose I can return it. But given the way the drivers make it work in Windows I think it is more likely to be systematic of all 7850's or at least all Sapphire 7850 OC's and maybe even all 7xxx cards. Also it took more than a month for the card to be in stock in my state for a reasonable price (West Australia). I expect if I wait that long again the 660 GTX will be released. Does anyone have an idea for how Nvidia cards perform in an HTPC environment?

Sorry for the wall-o-text but any help on the issue is appreciated in advance.
