Strange Folder appeared in C:\

When I check "Show hidden files and folders" and uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" in folder options of Windows Explorer, there is a folder shown in C:\ called "FOUND.000" and there is only one file called "FILE0000.CHK" that is 69.4MB large in that folder. What is that? The date shown is the date I installed my operating system (WinXP Pro). And is it a missing file? If so, how do I check what it is originally?

Thanks in advance for any help.

.chk files are created by chkdsk, they are all of the missing fragments it found, put into a file. usually they are pretty useless unless it happens to be chunks of text files or something, and i doubt you have 69MB of text files 😛

basically: you can delete it.
