Strange FF observation in LM, compared to Chrome

When I bring up the front page of Pornhub in Firefox there are a bunch of what I would call post stamp sized images of videos. Many moons ago, if I hovered my mouse over one such image it would play a few seconds of said video. This stopped several FF versions ago. And then this week I was in Chrome for something else, hit on a Pornhub link and to my surprise all of the images I hovered over to play a few seconds of the video, but this behavior of mouse-over doesn't seem to produce the results in Firefox anymore. I then wondered if this was maybe a media control got turned off (disabled) in FF, and if so how to turn it back on.

Ideas?

Using 76.0 FF for LM.
And 81.0.4044.138 Chrome for LM.
And LM 18.3 Sylvia w kernel 4.15.0.99

Just tried it in firefox 68.7.0esr on debian, and I had to enable a bunch of scripts in noscript, then greylist third party scripts in ublock to get the preview to play. So maybe it's your content blocking doing it.

I only visit said site on my trashable Linux box. As such, for sites like PH I do not run ublock, or any other kind of blocking/filtering add-on/extension. It worked, stopped working and now partially working (<5% of the time). I thought maybe it was something in the config for FF.
