Strange Events After Overclock

Hi,
A few weeks ago, I finished my first computer build. However, a couple of days ago I decided to overclock my Q6600 from 2.4ghz up to 3.2ghz. I had no problems when the cpu was clocked on 2.4ghz and everything was stable. After going throught the bios setting and changing the required setting, I got the cpu to boot up on to a very stable desktop. Thinking it was ok, I shut it down and turned off by the plug.

However when I turned it on to the first time, something strange happened. It started, then turned off after a few seconds. Then a few seconds later it turned itself back on and was completly stable with no problems showing up on windows.

After this I reset the mobo back to it orignal settings and it worked like it did before being overclocked. I'm back at 3.2ghz for the speed boast however, dose anyone know what the problems is and a way of fixing it? Also, is it bad to the system doing this?

I have just recorded it on my phone to show what happens;

What have you done so far as to test that your CPU is stable at 3.2GHz? Have you run Prime95, OCCT or the like? What are the options you've adjusted in your BIOS to get to your current overclock?

This is behavior by design at elevated FSB levels. It does not affect stability. You will also notice if you restart your PC from Windows it will actually completely shut down and power back up on its own as well.

I have tested it shortly with prime 95. I have also tested it with some after effects rendering (for 6 hours straight). Also, got you some screen shots of the settings I have changed in the bios

Sorry about the poor image quality

I see what you mean however, as long as I don't turn the power off by the plug, it is fine and powers up ok without any problems

wait, nevermind. If when it shuts off/turns back on it saves your OC settings, don't worry about it.

replace cmos battery in motherboard.
