i noticed that my gigabyte 7900gs video card emits this very high frequency whining noise when the card is being pushed hard (like when i run 3d mark) or when the cpu (C2d) is running orthos.
secondly i have noticed that if the computer is restarted, sometimes the screen will look paritally scrambled, and pressing reset does not fix this, you literally have to shut the computer off, wait ten seconds, then it boots jsut fine, no image scrambled image issues. also if you let the coputer restart with the paritla scrambling image issue, it loads in to windows just fine (but obviously the screen looks not so good) There are no cooling issues, as it run 26 idle, 32 load.
also i have run 3d mark for 2 hours for stability testing, and i have orthos tested the system for 24 hours with no problems
I also noticed that my screen goes blank and the system becomes unresponsive about half way through the forrest benchmark of 3dmark06, which required a restart.
what is causing this image thing and the noise? what should i do?
