Hello. I have a problem. I'm getting a electrical noise from my graphic card when the computer is idle, ONLY after I played games. However, as soon as I turn on game the sound goes away. When I turn it off ( game ), after around 3 minutes or so the sound comes back. Then that noise is gone after 5 second ( few seconds ).
And yes i am sure that is from graphic card, because i stressed pc with Prime95 and i dont hear that noise after stopping test.

Card is Asus Strix 980
Psu is Corsair 750 RM
Cpu is 4790K
Mobo is Sabertooth Z79 Mark 2

Here is the link with the same noise what is coming from my graphic card.
I know on link here is PSU but my graphic card making the same noise not during games but after quitting games. When noise started then is gone always after few seconds.

Its time to RMA? What you think?

Well it can't hurt to RMA it. Better than trying to figure it out trust me.

RMA it, see if new one does same thing. It sounds like, to me at least, is its just discharging static electricity. I know certain case fans use metal brushes that make that sound when fans are slowing down.

Should i be worried? That electrical noise is always when i stop playing game , on idle. When noise started, then it stops after 2-3 seconds. And then its ok . But again if i run game, stop playing, then noise is again after few seconds on idle.

A noise like that inside my computer would have me pulling the offending component immediately. While it might not be threatening, it could easily turn into a fire hazard.

Not worth risking the rest of your build.

I'd record the sound as best as you're able and send that to ASUS with the RMA request.

Sounds like the noise that is made when the power lead is loosely connected. I'd recheck all your connections to make sure they are tight before bothering with RMA.

Also where is the microphone situated on your camera? I assumed that it was the PSU making the noise. Is there any way you can get your ear below the graphics card to test?

That's the Indiana facility that gets slammed for that. It seems other ones handle RMAs better.

I'm no PSU expert but I seem to remember the CPU and GPU getting their power separately so one component might be failing or bad that is feeding the GPU.

Again I'm not an expert.

That last clip, when turned right up sounds like something touching the middle of the fan and releasing for a splitsecond.

I have that noise after playing some games. Finally at the end, can somebody explain me why i have that noise only after quitting games not during games?
Something like bzzz bzzzz.
Thank you. I have Corsair RM 750 not AX like on pasted movie. Is this difference?
So question is. I must RMA PSU or this is normal ?

I would suspect its because its stop drawing power from PSU. It sounds like a transformer whine to me. I've seen this happen before on come PSU, but nothing wrong with them just depends on components they used.

Honestly unless it bothers you I would not worry about it. If system seems stable.

Do you have another PSU you can hook up to see if it does same thing?

For 99% i know its graphic card.
Mine card seem to not buzzing when I start a game but the buzzing starts after a couple of seconds after gaming ,when the fans turn off for the "0 dB" mode. Is this normal? Can somebody explain that why?
I tested my pc with PRIME95 and after stopping torture test i dont hear that noise. Only after long session gaming ( on idle ) i can hear a buzzing coming from i think graphic card.

The noise is not very loud, but just loud enough to indicate that something is wrong. The nouse comes and goes and I've pinppointed that the sound is coming from my GPU area.

It sounds like a bug is buzzing around... you know the sound a fly makes when it hits an indoor window and tries to escape... sounds like that.. just not quite as loud.

Can somebody know what is this?
And yes system is stable.Only that "bzzz" noise after a couple of seconds after gaming ,bothering me. Thx for any help and suggestions.

No matter what game. Always when i put card on load ( furmark , games ) and then when i quit game or benchmark i can hear that noise for a few seconds.
Its not buzzing when I start a game but the buzzing starts after a couple of seconds after gaming ,when the fans turn off for the "0 dB" mode.

My card making that buzzing noise after long gaming session on idle, like here, please listen:

Its something bad with card?^

After the fan goes back to off, it makes some buzzing, but not too loud. Is this normal on that card?
Card when it is powering down from a really heavy graphics intense program like Unigine Heaven or Crysis3 makes this buzzing noise, but only for 1-2seconds then it goes away.
