strange dvd/cdr drive problem

I have a Toshiba 1401 scsi dvd and an imation(plextor flashed) 8x20 cdr drive. The toshiba is terminated as is the card (adaptec 2930 that came w/ the imation). It's currently on a 5 chain scsi cable.

The problem, after being on a while, the drives will be showing in device manager and explorer and what not... but no matter what kind of cd i put in, windows (2000) just keeps sayin "cd is empty, slap me in a cd" (ok, not quite that second part..).

THE FUNNY PART: I can still burn cd's using nero. I have not tried cd-cd copy tho, I will tho.

Solution, i removed the scsi card from device manager and add it again (w/o rebooting even tho it says to). Everything is back to normal.

Any one have any ideas???
