I picked up a week 29 Duron a few weeks ago, and jsut recently got my KT7 and started overclocking. The first bad thing that happened was after finally getting Win2k to work correctly, I rebooted and my p/s died! Then I finally got it all working again, and it ran at 900 stabily at 1.8V and crashed at 950 at all supported voltages. That was cool with me, but I wanted more anyways. I ordered and installed an FOP-32, as there are no alphas to be found (I was runnaing an old FEP-32) Well, before the FOP-32 fot here, the computer crashed at 900, so I clocked it back to 850...fine. A day later, crashed at 850. Now what!?!?! Set it back to 800, seemed stable...an hour later...BSOD! I'm now running at 750mhz@1.85 !! I can't boot at anything over 850, and even that is a crap shoot! Anyone got any idea what is happening? BTW, I have my FOP-32 on it now, and temps are below 35C, still no go! Thanks

Have you ever gave thought to the possibility that it may not be your CPU causing problems? Try changing video cards, motherboards, power supplies.

thanks for the help guys, keep it coming, I have clocked back my video card, and done some tweaking in the bios. One thing I should mention is that my machine is ALWAYS cracking keys! I have it installed as a service. Now, I must wait and see if it's stable, I'm at 800@1.85 (actually 1.9...) I'm gunna try 850 now I think. Thanks!

I bought a Duron650 off a brother than couldn't get it past 750mHz. I simply booted up on my motherboard at 850mHz and haven't messed with it since. It would probably do the 900mHz dance, just didn't bother because its going through a 30-day stress test on a 384mb hard-drive. :)

Hi everyone, thanks for the suggestions! After some minor tweaking, I was able to boot at 950. It would freeze in windows, so I clocked it back to 927. here it ran well, but blue screened after a seemingly very stable set of benchmarks. Finally, I set it back to 910 (909, but reports as 910) @ 1.85VCORE and things seem like they should be. Turns out it may have been some memory timing issues and a too high of a video card overclock. Thanks again for the advice!
