Strange DPAD issues

Has anybody else noticed strange program performance with the new DPAD client running?? Compared to the older version, I've found that the new one does a few annoying things like take slow down my printing (obviously its stealing CPU time from the HP software print spooler).

Also, another annoying thing I've found with the newer version is that when I fire up the client it causes my SB Live to take offence and give an ever so slight (but easily audible and annoying) crackle to sound playback. Its a VIA chipset board so no surprise there, but I've been lucky to never suffer any VIA/SB Live problems and am surprised this client can trigger.

Stephen must have gone super aggressive in this version.

So am I the only one seeing this problem or anybody else got the same thing happening with some programs?

Edit: Have to add, this has never caused a crash - just annoyance.

If you run DPAD on a computer you print from, set its priority (DPAD, that is) to Background.

I have DPAD running on one of my machines w/a VIA chipset (not the 686B SB though) and an SBlive without a problem. The priority could be key for both of those. 🙂

Suppose a little more info would be helpful 🙂

There's a 4.34 version out???

OK, mine's 4.33 - will have to try out 4.34 sometime. Although from your comment, maybe my assumption that the 4.33 client is a bit more aggressive may be true.

v434 is not much slower than v433a... plus it loads sample results properly and thus produces far hotter yields 😀
