today's high was in the low 40's....tomorrow and Saturday, the highs will be in the 70's and then Sunday, the highs will be back in the 30's...

I have in Dallas nearly 30 years and don't remember anything like this ever happening before...

What, really? In the winter, if a front blows through from the nw, it's going to get cold and wet real fast. Always been like that, no?

Same here. Cold now, warmer in weekend and cold again next week. 70s on Saturday and 40s on Sunday. Weird.

Time to clean the vehicle, wash then laundry before next week.

when I lived down in Houston back in the 80's, I don't remember 40 degrees temperature swings up and then down in a 4 day period...

is that normal down there now???

no...usually it gets colder/warmer in 10, maybe 15/20 degree increments over a 24 hour period (like 60 degrees to 45)...but I am pretty sure it has never dropped 30 and then went back up 40 degrees in such a short time span before here....

Um, this is normal weather for Dallas LOL. Not that it happens every week, but at least a couple times a year it'll do this.

Pretty much. It's been like this for at least 10 years. Before the cold fronts get here warm moist gulf air gets pulled over Houston. So 80 and humid followed by 40's and dryer.

So, what was the reason?

Licking road salt off cars lol. not really sure why it was considered a danger though, I guess if you are going out to brush snow off the car in early morning when it's dark and run into a moose that can be dangerous if you startle it lol. And it was actually in Alberta, but it did get me wondering why it's not more common here too, kinda makes sense.

As for the cold, tabarnak it's cold this morning. Only like -17 but feels more like -40. Think I'm just not used to it as it's been a warm winter so far.
