Strange crashes (BSOD, strange color) and reboots

Hi!
I have a strange problem. Since about saturday, out of nowhere, I started receiving weird BlueSOD. It happened a couple of minutes after I start Tom Clansy: Black list. Ended up having BSOD on almost any other game (FM14, FIFA14). Then later in the evening, it started giving me weird colors, and eventually make my screen go blank. After a restart, everytime I reboot my PC, these screens comes up, which are not regular and have never happened before:

When I load PC now, my PC is stuck on a 800X600 resolution and wont revert back to my normal 22" 1680X1050 resolution. The only way I could change my resolution back was if I did restore. Until today (monday), whenever I have done restore, to the 18th of sept (my lowest option) settings were back to normal, until I open a game. Once that happens, I recieve BSOD and then my boots reverts back to the crazy colors and the annoying low resolution.

I'm trying to understand, what is the fault? The hardware or the software?

Some information:
- I updated my W7 ultimate 32bit on friday, 18th including new graphics drivers (327)
- I tried reverting the drivers to 314.44, still doesn't work
- PC is on a fine temperature, 50C at max on all components
- my PC is 6 years old, working fine. my 9800GT is 4.5 years old.

My problem is eactly like this: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1799324/weird-screen-artifacts-bsod.html

Looks like a gpu issue to me, what are your specs? if you unplug the gpu does the problem disappear?

Hi..Sorry for not listing specs
Q6600
9800GT
2gb ram
all running on default clocks. I kind of don't know how to unplug the card. If i manage to unplug the card, the PC will still work?

I'm also thinking of a format, is that relevant?

Yes it will work, so it only happens in games right?

Honestly? Not sure. The BSOD happens always on games after a few mins or even seconds of opening. But I recieved some fucked up artifacts and even screen shut down when only browsing the internet, happened after hours though. Didn't recieve a BSOD from browsing.

I won't be surprised if the card is on it's way out 🙂 do you have a second card you can plug into?
