Strange Crash In Games

Man, I thought I had this problem solved. Weeks ago my computer began freezing totally when playing games. It would freeze and make this looping, somewhat high pitched sound. Then it did it with some video. Then my pc would freeze randomly at the desktop or in other programs, but with no sound. Anyway, after doing a little homework, my first idea was to get a new psu. The one I had was crappy and weak. So I get an Antec True Power 430w. That was a couple of weeks ago, and everything has been fine since then. No problems at all. That is until tonight. I borrowed HomeWorld from a friend and was playing for the first time. Anyway, after a couple of hours of play it does the same old crash with that looping sound. Anyone have any ideas at all? Do you need anymore info? Please let me know, and any help is greatly appreciated.

What kind of videocard do you have? I had similar problems and found that the fan on my videocard wasn't providing enough cool air to keep the VPU at a low temp. Try sticking a different video card in and see if you have the same problems.

Ok it may be the heat. I ran MBM5 while playing the game, and after only about 10 o 20 minutes of play I checked and it had gotten up to 52. This seems high to me. What do you think?

It's an XP1600 with a radeon 9500pro. My cooling always seemed sufficient before. So maybe it is the video card. I used to play for hours with the previous vid card. And once I had gotten that new psu everything was fine until last night. I'm stumped. BTW, I'm running winXP.
