Strange colors on power up

I have an Epox motherboard and the Epox logo shows in many strange colors when I power my computer on. Everything else seems to work fine and I doubt it is the video card since it works fine in everything else (regular use/games/etc). I am *assuming* it is a motherboard issue, but wanted to get some more input. Does this mean I should buy a new motherboard or does it sound alright? Once again, the strange colors are the ONLY unusual thing so I assume/hope it isn't a big deal.

If you mean artifacts (looks like crystaline or other unusual shapes) then you have a video card driver issue. But if it's just colors, then it's probably normal for the motherboard post sequence.

I know what you're talking about.
You're ok, update to the latest bios and the Epox logo should appear normal again.

I upgrade so often i cant exactly remember which Epox board i had that did that too.
(it may have been my 8rda)

Its like it was showing 8bit colors on the Epox bootup screen.(instead of 16bit color)

There was a bunch of us on these forums that had that problem awhile back when we updated to newer graphics cards on our Epox boards.

It was eventually solved in a bios update.

BTW: Just to be perfectly clear, ours only did it wth the Epox startup LOGO, the Windows loading logo and everything else displayed just fine during startup.(as well as everything else after the Epox logo)
