Strange buzzing noises coming from my Geforce 4 ti4400

Got an Abit Geforce 4 ti4400 about 2 months ago. I've been hearing some strange buzzing noises, but always attributed it to my new hard drive, which was purchased at about the same time. today I do some overclocking and have my case side off, and during 3dmark I notice that when the video card strains, it buzzes. the noise level varies.

what's goin on here? is the fan on the chip temperature controlled or something... or should I be worried?

The fan might be speed throttled so that it only spins fast as the processor heats up. The only other possibility I can think of is some for of AC hum (like in flourescent lights) but this is far less likely.
