I just bought a IS7-E from Googlegear. I just installed all the components and found out the on-board NIC is a 3COM Gigabit NIC. Huh? I thought only IS7-G had this? I have a IS7-E, the scaled down version with no special goodies. I don't get it? Just a freak of nature or anyone else seen/heard of this? Thanks in advance..

I can't find the thread now (hmmm... maybe on another forum?) but this has been discussed before. Other people have been surprised to find gigabit on their IS7-E instead 10/100. Pleasantly surprise. :)

Same here. Mine was from Newegg. I had heard about IS7 boards coming with the Gigabit before, but now it seems that the -E is as well.

My IS7 cam with gigLan too. I even RMA the mobo and the replacement can with gigLan also.
