Strange boot loop issue with Asus z87 Pro

So I've got a strange issue with this board. It boots to Windows just fine. It boots to UEFI just fine. However, when I modify the BIOS settings and then save and reset, the system enters a boot loop. I can get out of the loop by holding down the power button to turn off the system, then hit the power button again to boot. Once I do this, the system is fine again (boots and reboots and shuts down normally), and the BIOS settings are updated. It's not a huge deal, but it's kind of annoying and doesn't feel great for a newish system.

Any ideas as to what could be causing this behavior? Bios version is latest (2103).

System specs:
  • Asus z87-Pro LGA 1150
  • Intel Core i5 4670K
  • 6 GB RAM Corsair XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (Was 8GB, but a stick died, potential system weak spot)
  • MSI GTX 770 2GB
  • Samsung 830 128GB SSD
  • Samsung 840 Evo 512GB SSD
  • WD 1TB Green Drive
  • EVGA SuperNOVA 750 Watt PSU

Are you overclocking? Are you sure the stick of memory is bad, or is it a dead bank on the board?

I am not overclocking. I troubleshot the memory by trying each memory stick in the #1 slot, so I feel fairly confident about the remaining 3 sticks apart. They were taken from an older build from 2009 or 2010, hence I don't trust them fully. However, outside of changing the Bios settings and restarting, I have experienced no system instability.
