Strange behavior with a PIII 550e & Gorb

Slapstick

Looking for clues as to why this would happen. I?ve been running a PIII 550e at 760 with stock HS/Fan on an MSI6309 MB for the last 4 months @ default voltage without a problem. Temp never got above 100 F. under a full load . I had to order some fans for another box I just put together so I decided to replace the stock HS/Fan with a Gorb. Now I have to up the volts to 1.7 on this thing or it will lockup after 2-3 hours. The CPU reports a temp decrease of 10-15 degrees, (runs about 85 F under load) with the Gorb. MBM shows a temp decrease 1-2 min. before it locks.

It?s not a big deal I?m just curious as to why I have to up the volts to make it stable even though it?s running considerably cooler. The Gorb is the only part added but I did have to move one of the sticks of ram to the 3rd slot because of the tight clearance between the Gorb and the 1st Dimm slot on this MB
