Strange battery problem with my laptop.

I'm experiencing a very strange problem with the battery on my laptop,I'm going to list the symptoms and see what you guys think.

When I charge it often times it will stop charging before reaching 100%.

When I run the laptop on battery it will act normally until it get's down to 55-60% according to windows it then drops down to 6% suddenly.

I would let it get to 0% according to windows and it would keep working for another 10 minutes or so.

My question is,is my battery screwed or is windows screwing up and not measuring my battery power right?

I think that your battery's voltage is dropping very quickly. Either one of the cells has gone kaput, or the cells are just at the end of their life.
