So I noticed when I play Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead, that when I am using headphones or 2.1 speaker audio that I sometimes get audio distortion or popping. This is random, and does not always happen. If I hear the distortion or popping I can switch to 4.1, 5.1, or 7.1 and the popping and distortion never happen.
The popping / distortion only happens in Steam games, so I am wondering if its my sound card or if there is some corruption in my Steam games. I just find it weird that the problem isnt persistent and that it only happens once out of every 3 times I may launch the game up. Any clues?
