I have an ECS K7S5A, a DURON 1.0GHz and 256Mb DDR and I'm having some problems when using the Audio On-Board. I really don't know if it's the motherboard, but it's a possibility. I can hear the Windows Sound when it starts up, Cd's using the default Win CD player and MP3 files using WINAMP, BUT....when I try to use the Windows Media Player or try to hear ANYthing via Internet, I have no sound!! The Windows Media Player and all streaming programs don't produce anysound. I read that I should check if the CODECS are installed and, in fact, one CODEC was not properly installed. Windows should download and install any missing CODEC that is necessary to play a music, but it simply ignores this CODEC. I've already checked the option to automatically download CODECS, but nothing happens. Well, it really doesn't seem like a Motherboard problem, but I'm wondering if it has something to do with the On-board AUDIO of my MB. Maybe a driver or configuration..........wHAT CAN i DO??!

First of all you need to let people know what OS you are using. Secondly, ECS has onboard sound drivers posted on their website at ecsusa.com. It definatley sounds like software problems because a hardware problem would cause it to not work with anything. If the drivers from ECS don't fix it try to reinstall your OS. Windows XP works great on this board.
